Representment Flows
Introduction
A Representment or Recycle is when you submit the same transaction onto the network after a NSF in order to collect on the original item.
Example
A merchant initiates a transaction to a consumer, but the consumer doesn’t not have enough money in their bank account. We receive the return, and re-initiate the first recycle on your behalf in order to collect on the original item.
Below you can see a full recycle process. You’ll see that there are three independent transactions in total. The ReferenceNumber is modified on each create. We append “1RC” for the first recycle and “2RC” for the second recycle.
The status starts at “First Recycle” and “Second Recycle” for the recycles when they are created. The final recycle can be in either a “Failed Recycle” or Chargeback, NSF, Invalid, Returned status.

Push Notifications
Depending on the timing of your recycles, funding schedule, and bank returns you can get a lot of different notifications.
In the case above, the merchant is on a Zero Day schedule. This means you’ll always be missing the “Originated” status because we move directly to “Funded”.
